Tuesday's Poetry Corner

The calf

Teetering, struggling to remain upright,
the newborn calf nonetheless stood as an affirmation
as to the purity, the beauty and the promise of
nature realized.
Looking at that calf got me
thinking about a burger.

On the way home from the barn
I saw a pig and thought of a
bacon burger.
Standing next to the pig was a farmer
and I thought of a farmer’s sausage.
